FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Resetting the maintenance count when the “Perform Printer Maintenance” message appears on the printers LCD panel

1.Turn the printer off.

2. Press and hold down the select (tick mark) button while turning the printer on.

3. Continue to hold down the button until all three LEDs are illuminated.

4. Release the button.

5. Press the up arrow button until the message New Maintenance Kit appears on the display.  

6. Press the select (tick mark) button once. New Maintenance Kit will appear in the control panel display and the printer will reset itself and be ready to print.

Replacing the fuser

The fuser is located at the rear of the printer. Be sure to remove the mains cable to the printer and let the fuser cool for at least 15 minutes before removing.

1. If a duplexer (for double sided printing) is fitted remove by lifting up slightly and pulling out from the printer.

2. If a duplexer is not fitted remove the rear output tray (photo no. 1).

3. Locate the 2 blue fuser locking catches. Release by pushing up both catches hard to be sure they have fully released (photo no. 2).

4. Pull the old fuser straight out from the printer.

5. Slide the new fuser into position being sure that both blue latches click firmly into place.

6. Refit the rear output tray or duplexer as applicable.

Replacing the Tray 1 (multipurpose tray) pickup roller and separation pad

1. Open the toner lid and tray 1.

2. Remove the white plastic cover (usually labelled with a “4”) (if fitted) above the pick up roller by grasping the handle and pulling straight out.

3. Release the pick up roller by bending out the 2 small white plastic locking tabs (one on each side) simultaneously using 2 pens or small screwdrivers (photo no.3). Once the tabs have been released the roller should pop of its mounting. Replace the separation pad before putting on a new pickup roller.

4.Remove the separation pad by inserting a small flat blade screwdriver under the pad and prising upwards carefully. (photo no.5).

5. Fit the new separation pad locate it in position above it black plastic support arm and applying gentle downward pressure until it clicks into place. It should be level and not raised on one side.

6. Fit the new pick up roller by fitting the locating pins (part of the blue plastic) into their cut-outs on the white plastic assembly and then clicking the white plastic locking tabs into place.

Fitting Tray 2/3 pickup and feed rollers

1. Remove the feed roller from inside the paper tray by opening the hinged cover to the left of the roller to gain access. The Pickup roller is held on its shaft by a plastic retaining clip which locates in a groove on the metal shaft. Lift the clip out of the groove and slide the roller to the left to remove (photo no.7). Fit the new roller by pushing on until the retaining clip clicks into place.

2. To change the rollers inside the printer remove the paper drawer and turn the printer on its left side to give easier access. The 2 rollers are removed in similar fashion to the one in the paper drawer. When fitting the new rollers be sure to place the pick up roller (white center) and feed roller (blue center) in the correct locations (photo no.8).
