Fitting Instructions

Replacing the Tray 1 pickup roller

1. Open the transfer assembly drawer (photo no. 6).

2. Remove the transfer assembly (photo no. 7) and keep it in a light free area or under a cloth.

3. Locate the pickup roller in the drawer front (photo no. 8.). Note that it looks like 2 separate rollers but is in fact one unit.

4. Pull the roller straight up and off its shaft (photo no. 9), noting the position of the roller’s metal locating pin.

Replacing the Tray 2 pickup and feed rollers

1. For easier access turn the printer onto its left hand side. If you do this you must first empty the toner drip dray which is located in the fuser compartment (see “Replacing the Fuser” instruction sheet for full instructions). Failure to empty the tray before turning the printer on its side to change the rollers in tray 2 (the lower paper drawer) will allow toner to leak into the printer and cause print quality and other problems which may be expensive to have repaired.

2. Locate the feed roller and 4 pickup rollers (photo no. 10).

3. Remove the feed roller by releasing the locking clip and pulling from the metal shaft (photo no. 11).

4. Turn the pick up roller shaft for easier access and remove and replace each pickup roller in turn by pressing the retaining clip and pulling from the shaft (photo no. 12/13).
